8 days, 7 nights
Seasonal departures, October to April

Overview

The Nile as the Victorians travelled it. A dahabiya is a traditional two-masted sailing boat with only a handful of cabins, so the river feels like yours: you moor at quiet islands and village banks, visit temples the big ships pass by, and eat on deck as the light goes. Two nights in Cairo bookend five nights under sail between Esna and Aswan.

Highlights

  • Five nights on a small sailing dahabiya
  • El Kab and Gebel el-Silsila, rarely seen from the big ships
  • Edfu and Kom Ombo without the crowds
  • Dinners on deck and nights moored by the riverbank

Before you book

About the price

The price shown is per person sharing a double room in the lower season. Your consultant confirms the exact price for your dates, hotel level and group size before anything is booked.

Small boats book early

Dahabiyas carry between eight and twenty guests, so the best cabins for December to March go months ahead. Whole-boat charters are available for families and friends.
