A Nile cruise mixes early temple visits, lazy sun-deck afternoons and festive evenings, so your suitcase should cover all three.
From October to April, mornings can be crisp: pack a light jacket for sunrise visits to the Valley of the Kings, plus breathable layers for midday. In summer, prioritise linen, a wide-brim hat and strong sunscreen — the sun deck is glorious but unforgiving.
Comfortable walking shoes are non-negotiable; temple floors are uneven and you will cover several kilometres a day. Most ships host a galabeya party — you can buy one at any bazaar stop for a few hundred pounds, and it makes a great souvenir.
Finally, keep a small day bag with water, tissues, and small notes for tipping. Your ITTAS tour leader handles tickets and timing, so all you carry is what you need.
